Plant Salvage at Parcel 31 (Fraser development)

Get a selection of plants to complete your garden during a plant salvage at the site of the newest development in the Slopes neighbourhood at UniverCity, Parcel 31 (east of the Veritas buildings). Mosaic Homes will soon begin developing Parcel 31 into 138 residential units (combination of apartments and townhomes), and SFU Community Trust is asking for volunteers to salvage and remove any non-invasive species of plants on the site.

Details: 
Meet at the northwest corner of Parcel 31 on Thursday, December 6th, between 1:00pm – 4:00pm. The Trust will bring a few handheld tools but please bring your own tools (shovels, containers, burlap cloth, yogurt containers, 2 litre plastic milk cartons cut in half), soil, transportation, and any other equipment you may need.

• As Parcel 31 is surrounded by undeveloped land, a water hose will not be available at the Plant Salvage. Please bring your own water should you require any water during the Plant Salvage.
• The weather may be cold and wet so please wear appropriate attire including waterproof clothing and waterproof shoes.
• Wear sturdy work clothes, long sleeves and long pants, work gloves and boots (steel toed preferred).
• Please clean up any dirt/soil/debris that is left on the road or sidewalks.
