DESCRIPTION:United Way of the Lower Mainland and it’s partners like SFU\, raise funds for local agencies and programs that provide support to vulnerable children and seniors living in poverty. This year\, SFU’s goal is raise $150\,000. There are a number of ways you can support this inititiave\, one way you can make a difference is to drop off your used books\, CDs\, DVDs\, LPs\, new or used board games and puzzles (no magazine\, encyclopedia or VHS tapes permitted) at one of the various drop off locations on the SFU Burnaby campus or at one of the two locations within UniverCity – either in the lobby in The Cornerstone building or at Nesters Market.\nwww.sfu.ca/unitedway/events/booksale.html

SUMMARY:Do the Grind Blind Screening
DESCRIPTION:Do the Grind Blind is a documentary by Accessible Media Inc. (AMI) that follows nine youth who are blind or partially sighted\, each with a sighted guide who challenged themselves physically and mentally to reach the top of Grouse Mountain in the fall of 2017. The AMI production team followed the Blind Beginnings youth from the very first training hike through to the completion of the event\, highlighting their stories along the way. The film will be shown with Integrated Described Video and\, following the screening\, there will be a panel discussion with some of the youth featured in the film as well as the film producer\, Amit Tandon.
