Ready to ride your two-wheeler? Embark Sustainability and the SFU Sustainability Office have partnered to host a celebration station at SFU Burnaby for Bike to Work Week. Ride your bike to SFU Burnaby on Thursday, June 2nd, and drop by the celebration station in the Town Square between 7:30am - 10:30am for some free breakfast foods, coffee, free bike mechanic services from Dandy Horse Cycles, plenty of high fives, and a whole bunch of other activities!

Hats Off Day is a huge one-day extravaganza featuring a colourful main-street style parade with real local flavour, followed by a big street party. Hastings Street between Boundary Road and Gamma Avenue is shut down, and the streets are packed with families, friends, neighbours, and merchants!

Experience a large Great Blue Heron colony at the height of the season in Deer Lake Park. Join biologist Robyn Worcester to learn more about the triumphs and trials that the heron families face throughout the season through a short indoor presentation at the Burnaby Village Museum followed by a firsthand look at the nesting birds on a tour of the colony.  

University Highlands' students will be planting their Hawk Ecosculpture on Wednesday, June 15th from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Community members are welcome to assist in planting from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.
